World's Largest Sportfish "Special One" Delivered

The world's largest sportfish yacht has been delivered to her owners after being launched to the water earlier this year. Hull 406 has she was known when under construction is called "Special One" and has completed her sea trials since April and handed over to her owners.

This is a purpose-built sportfish yacht that easily takes the title as world's largest in its category. At 52-meters long and having an impressive 499 GT internal volume, this vessel puts superlatives into perspective. Vripack has been responsible for the design inside and out of Special One. There are 6 decks that guests can access with 4 of them being internal and the other two upstairs forming part of the 'tuna tower'.

Project 406 would have been a strange request from the owner but the yard was up-to-the-task. The yard said, "This motor yacht project showcases our ability to create custom solutions that perfectly align with our client's vision." Being a sportfishing yacht, there is a performance aspect to the vessel. It is believed the vessel can run at above 30-knots. The yard has not commented specifically about the top speed.

With a length of 52-meters the beam is an even 8-meters. Vripack was also responsible for the Naval Architectural aspects of Special One. Described as a sportfisher on steroids the vessel has been designed specifically to hunt larger predatory species like Marlin and swordfish. The public will have a chance to see the yacht up close and personal as Special One is slated to be on show at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS).
