The first XSR 85 by Sarp Yachts is currently under construction by the Turkish yard. The vessel is being built fully in composite materials to a design by Red Yacht Design inside and out. The length overall is actually 23.95-meters with a beam of 6.40-meters leaving a draft of just 1.60-meters.

A pair of 1000 bhp MAN or equivalent will be powering this planning hull vessel. Top speed of the vessel is expected to be in the region of 25-knots. Range at 12-knots is 1,150 nautical miles. Fuel capacity is 8,145 liters with storage for 2,390 liters of fresh water. The Sarp XSR 85 is actually part of a new range introduced by Sarp Yachts about two years ago. The yachts push hybrid technology and the efficient hull form by Van Oossanen.

In terms of accommodation, expect a VIP, two twins and a master cabin and each cabin has its own bathroom. The master suite is full-beam with his and hers vanities, shower. The VIP is also full-beam in nature. A crew of up to four are taken care of with bunk style beds and their own shower in each cabin. Delicate balance has been given to the ratio of indoor and outdoor space. The saloon is open-plan with centrally placed L-shape sofa and a formal dining table seating eight. On the bow there is a jacuzzi for use when at anchor or in port.

The sun deck is really a beach deck for the guests. This deck also serves as a position to have a secondary helm station which can be found on the starboard forward area. A hardtop covers the majority of the deck to provide a measure of relief from the overhead sun. Cut-outs with glass inserts in the forward bulwarks helps to keep the connection with the sea along with railings rather than solid bulwarks in entirety. With a gross tonnage of 80, space is at a premium but with the open-plan layout and full-beam offerings in two cabins there is something to work with. Stay tuned for when this new hull launches.
