News: Nordhavn Officially Unveils N80 At 2018 FLIBS

While it is no secret that Nordhavn is working on the new N80 model as renders and information have been available since mid-2018, the yard used the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) to ensure greater traction and coverage. The N80 is a bridge between two key models in the Nordhavn line-up, the N76 and N86. Vripack is working with Nordhavn on this one and should result in a fruitful American-Dutch collaboration.

Onboard the interior will be with muted timbers, light tones and as Vripack says, "homely Scandanavian chic". Below is one of the first images from a set of interior renderings available for the new model showcasing the main saloon which is intended to make clients feel they are onboard a luxury yacht and not necessarily aboard a utilitarian explorer. Onboard there is accommodation for eight guests in four cabins. Those are split between a master suite on the forward end of the main deck and guest suites on the lower deck.

As an explorer type yacht the 24-meter vessel will have two smaller tenders. On the larger Nordhavns they are stored on the bow but this setup has one on the bow and the other on the upper aft deck, each with their own crane. According to Nordhavn the N80 will have fuel capacity for around 4,810 GAL or 18,207LT. Fresh water storage for 800 GAL (3,028LT) is also being provided. Two John Deere 375s are the likely powerplants to be onboard and she will definitely have ocean-crossing range at conservative speeds. The N80 is actually more like 78.8-feet long with a beam of 23.4-feet and a draft of 6.9-feet. The first hull is presently under construction and was removed from the mold.
