Earlier this year year YF alerted you to the 2nd hull in the N80 series arriving at Dana Point, CA after being offloaded from a Heavy Lift freighter in Ensenada, MX. That was in February, fast forward to June and that same boat has been christened "ourtheory" and delivered to her owners. The owners initially didn't have 'a theory' on which Nordhavn boat they wanted. They showed distinct interest in the N55, N72, and then back to the N55 but ultimately they settled on the N80.

Building their N80 was an interesting process due to COVID, since they were only ever able to visit the South Coast factory in China to see the first N80 being molded; travel restrictions precluded future check-ins. As such, they took delivery of hull #2 sight unseen, having only set eyes upon their boat after it was completed and delivered to Ensenada earlier this year. They put their faith in the capable, experienced hands of Project Manager Dave Harlow, publicly thanking him for masterfully overseeing the build process and ensuring all details were executed to the highest degree.

This new yacht is powered by twin 375 horse power John Deere engines. Length is 80' 8" (24.58M ) Not including bow plank. Beam is 7.11-meters and a draft of 2.02-meters. The displacement is around 127.4 metric tonnes (280,300 lbs). The Nordhavn 80 ushers in the next era of luxury passagemaking by offering sophisticated, safe, comfortable and dependable cruising. This vessel has the ability to store tenders on the foredeck as well as aft bridge deck dependent on how the owner wants to utilize the boat. There is a jacuzzi on the aft flybridge and owners can customize the layout somewhat depending on their needs. The owners did the traditional breaking of the 'champagne' bottle but this time breaking it on the anchor. Since delivery they already have taken ourtheory down to Mexico for a shakedown cruise. For now they anticipate they will stay in Dana Point to plan their next trip adventure.
