  1. N68APH "Tanglewood" Delivered By Nordhavn
Nordhavn has a model in its vast line-up to suit the size, needs, and style of pretty much any customer who is into the trawler-expedition market. They also continually refresh their range by adding new models or updating current specimens. Recently, the yard brought forth the N41, N51, N71 and N80 to the market. We do not have to tell you about the market reception of the N41. As an entry-level boat in the Nordhavn line-up it has sold very well, however this article is a closer look at a recent delivery of a Nordhavn N68, the N6837.
  2. The particular N68 in question (N6837) has been delivered to an experienced owner. This N68 is now their second yacht from Nordhavn. They named the new N68AFP (Aft Pilothouse) "Tanglewood". We mentioned the owner is experienced and fairly well known in the Nordhavn community. They are said to be extremely knowledgeable on systems both electrical and engineering. That knowledge and experience was incorporated into the design, engineering and build of the new Tanglewood.
  3. Onboard Tanglewood, the arrangement offers a 4-cabin layout which suggests the yacht can carry up to eight guests. The interior was finished out on a semi-custom basis with the owner having the ability to lend some input to the choices made with materials. For example, the primary stone onboard is a Darker Granite and the wood choice is Teak. The owner's residence is onboard this yacht and they have some cruising plans but were subject to the current Covid variant wave. The owner said he had high hopes for cruising into northern Canada but suspects the Omicron variant may sideline those plans, however adding, "Fortunately there is a lifetime of cruising to do in this region, so it’s not a bad place to hang out."
  4. Tanglewood is powered via Scania Di 13-080 400 horse power which runs at 1800 RPM. Fuel tanks on the standard N68 have capacity for 11,871 LT. Exhaust discharge is though a wet exhaust system. There are four decks on this boat really with three of them being interior decks, lower, main and upper and above that is a flybridge. The forward portion of the flybridge is shaded by a hard top while the aft is open. The vessel was commissioned in Seattle after being shipped from the Ta-Shing factory via a freighter. The N68 typically weighs just over 200,000 lbs or just shy of 100 metric tonnes.
