News: Nordhavn N100 Launched; Named "Serenity"

Nordhavn has announced the launching of the first N100 unit and she is named "Serenity". The yacht builds on the N86/N96 hull with the classic Nordhavn exterior of the N96. From 26,000 LT fuel capacity this expedition yacht will be able to roam 3,000 nautical miles. Her top speed will be a sedate 12-knots using a pair of CAT C18 ACERT marine diesels. Now that she is in the water, Serenity is being prepared for sea trials ahead of delivery to her owner in March.

Her exterior appearance is familiar but the paint is different than what you usually see on Nordhavns. The paint finish on the hull is called "Stars and Stripes Blue" according to Nordhavn. Onboard the owner has made their mark both with the layout and the decor. The interior is largely customized with a unique layout that differs from the N86/96 layout plans. Destry Darr Desgins was responsible for carrying out the owner's interior decor wishes. The interior makes good use of prized and wanted luxe materials and finishes such as walnut wood, stainless steel inlays, Lutron lighting and extraordinary stone work. The medium-dark colored wood sets off a neutral color scheme of grey, cream and brown and allows the vibrant artwork throughout the boat to stand out.

There is a five-cabin layout on the interior that includes a master suite for the owner and cabins for their family. A crew of four can be slept onboard as well. The Nordhavn N100 met the owner's requirement for a global ocean-going cruising yacht with great construction and finish. Additionally he wanted an aft cockpit for fishing that was done in such a way so as not to affect guest relaxation space. This resulted in the extra length on the stern.
