Nordhavn N5273 "Sippican" Launches For New Owner

Hull number 73 in the Nordhavn N52 model has been launched by the trawler/expedition yacht manufacturer for their new owners. The name is already fitted to the stern and the sides proudly displaying. "Sippican" is her name and she is a N52 featuring a customized three-stateroom layout with a hallway. The forward pilothouse design will allow for the tender and toys to be stored aft on the upper deck and be served by its own crane.

Sippican’s interior is done in teak with contrasting black shimmery granite running throughout. As mentioned before the accommodation arrangement is for three cabins with a hallway. Noticeable on N5273 is the absence of the engine room access door in the starboard guest stateroom which was removed because the owners wanted additional storage: first in the form of a bureau with pull-out doors inside the stateroom; second, they desired a proper pantry just off the galley. To accommodate for these changes, the ER access was moved to the salon stairs with a hinged access hatch.

Hull 73 is the first 3-stateroom configured Nordhavn 52. This layout was chosen because the owner needed the extra rooms to host his boating buddies who will join him onboard during long passages. The hallway access to the staterooms cuts out the forward stairway access from the pilothouse but allows for a much bigger wheelhouse. It provides enough space for two helm chairs. Another nice custom touch in the PH is an additional drinks fridge/wine chiller. The owners have big plans for Sippican including a trip to Bermuda. Following that with all being equal Sippican will cross the Atlantic to the Azores and then Gibraltar to fulfill their dreams of cruising the Mediterranean.
