  1. New N71 From Nordhavn
On March 17th, Nordhavn announced two new models, the N625 and the N71. The N625 is seen here: https://www.yachtforums.com/threads/news-nordhavn-announces-the-n625.34366/ . The N71 is a modern option for those owners and buyers in the 65-75-foot market. There has always been a thrust on the part of Nordhavn to keep their model line-up fresh and by listening to customer feedback this helps guide the implementation of new features on new models too. The N71 is partly a result of this but it is also a new boat entirely, in fact it is a new hull according to the yard.
  2. The Nordhavn N71 may be a good fit for owners who do not quite want to step up to the new N80 yet. The N71 is a brand new hull, created especially for those who find themselves in the upper end of the mid-size range, who desire the aesthetic of one of Nordhavn’s larger yachts but want the ability to run the boat without crew. It's right in that sweet-spot for this specific bracket of owners. Three hulls appear to be sold already for the N71 and by owners who previously either had N60s or N68s.
  3. Nordhavn has presented the N71 in two layouts for owners. There is a three-cabin arrangement which has three cabins split between the lower deck and main with a spacious skylounge. Secondly there is a four-cabin layout which naturally places the fourth cabin in place of the skylounge. This flexibility in layout mimics the N80's twin model configuration even though the N71 is a bit smaller in volume. It offers owners big features on a smaller platform ensuring overall creature comfort on the proven hull form.
  4. In Nordhavn style you can anticipate the N71 to have ocean-crossing capabilities. The standard of construction will be in accordance to the strictest CE certification for offshore cruising. Nordhavn creates rugged ocean-going platforms that are finished with the owner's stamp to a degree. This is part of the lure that draws freedom seekers who prefer a life on the ocean with the ability to almost go anywhere and not sacrifice a home-like experience while doing it.
  5. "We took everything we knew from the Nordhavn 68 and 76 models and applied the parts that were most successful into creating the N71," said Project Manager Justin Zumwalt. Zumwalt has spent the past 16 years overseeing the N64/68 and N72/76 projects, and was a natural choice to manage the N71 model and its introduction.
  6. The N71 is really 74-feet/22.56-meters (if the bow plank is included in the LOA but 71.10-feet/21.9-meters excluding it). The overall beam is 22.5-feet/6.85-meters and the draft is 6.85-feet/2.03-meters. The displacement is 227,800 pounds (lbs) and she can carry approximately 18,284 LT of fuel. The engines onboard are 2 X John Deere 6068SFM85. These are each 249 horse power @ 2400 rpm M1 rated. If you are in the market for this yacht, Nordhavn says a new N71 will cost around 5 million dollars. Fabrication for tooling of the N71 is currently underway but actual construction work on the first hull is timetabled to commence in January 2022. The lead time on the first hull is expected to be 18 months although Nordhavn expects that subsequent N71 hulls to reduce to 15 months.
