News: N56-10 MotorSailor Launched

Hull 10 In N65 Motorsailor Launched.

Motorsailors by Nordhavn aren't that common to see compared to the yard's other models but recently N56-10 launched from the Ta Shing yard. This is hull 10 of the N56 Motorsailor line from Nordhavn. This one is going to a European-based owner and is being prepared for delivery. The new vessel is in the water and would have been prepared for sea trials.

Once sea trials have been satisfied and completed the vessel will then be shipped to the Nordhavn office in Hamble England (NEL) for further commissioning. Then delivery will happen for its Eastern-European owner. Some quick specifications relating to the N56, the actual length of the vessel is 57.5-feet with a beam of 16.7-feet and a draft of just 7-feet. Displacement is 95,000 lbs with the capacity to carry 3,028 LT of fuel. On the standard N56MS the hull would be Arocoat #340 gray and the deck Ferro White Ultrashield.

As it is a partial sailor vessel, there is a full batten main suitable for in boom furling and a 100% genoa suitable for roller furling system. There is a Navtec hydraulic boom vang. Head sail roller furling system “Harken” hydraulic. Standing and running rigging by Furling and Rigging Co. The mast and boom are Forespar “Leisure Furl” in boom hydraulic furling system per Forespar/PAE design. Additionally that Hydraulic function is controlled by a Lewmar Commander 400 system and that rounds out the general sail-related gear on the 56MS.
