  1. Asian Owner Buys In-Build Monte Carlo Yachts 105 Skylounge
An in-build unit from the 105 Skylounge model by Monte Carlo Yachts has been sold to an Asian owner who plans to take delivery next year. The specimen is actually the first customer-bound hull of the MCY 105 Skylounge. Once launched it will become the yard's largest model alongside the regular MCY105 as well as most defining yacht they build. The design is by Italian duo from Nuvolari and Lenard (Carlo and Dan) and they have sculpted a craft that pins voluminous spaces throughout for the interiors.
  2. The skylounge is going to be one of the most utilized spaces onboard thanks to its location. Not only this but it is essentially a swanky flybridge that is fully enclosed and climate-controlled allowing it to be used in all weather. A secondary salon on 32-meter is an added asset and what normally would have been the hard top which forms the roof of the skylounge is finished with an abundance of glass panels. The skylounge is certainly a naturally-lit space during the day, even in overcast conditions. Stunning views out the sides and above can be enjoyed thoroughly from this space.
  3. The main salon on the main deck is the formal entertainment space onboard although we personally would prefer the skylounge ambiance. Fitted with symmetrical low-rise seating on either side, the side glazing is uninterrupted and offers good views outdoors to your surroundings. Towards the side entrances, the bulwarks can fold down to provide a better view while dining at anchor. The tonal and color schemes are similar to the skylounge but the more formal main salon offers punchier and highly vibrant accents to assert its presence as the main entertainment area onboard.
  4. Accommodation is located on the main and lower decks. The principal cabin is located on the forward main deck and is full-beam as you can appreciate from the rendering below. Large side windows offer ample views with a skylight above to add a third dimensional feel for the owners. The centrally placed bed - which appears to 'float' just above the floor - is in a prime position to permit views from your resting throne. There is a makeup area to starboard and a chaise lounge to port.
  5. While we are here let's take a look at the bathroom. This natural stone clad space is the epitome of luxury on the water. The bathroom is located just a few steps down from the master bedroom space and transitions texturally from softer to slightly more aggressive feel with subtle undertones. The vanity stall area features a single trough but two faucet areas on either side, the shower region is behind. Overall a very nice space for private time.
  6. At 32.26-meters, the interior volumes previously mentioned are aided by full-beam spaces in many areas around the yacht. The beam is actually 7.15-meters or around 23.5-feet. The draft is 2.37-meters or a touch under 8-feet. The build is done in VTR, Kevlar®, Carbon Fiber to ensure lightweight construction but a sturdy boat. The dry displacement is only 104 tonnes. The standard engines should be 2 x MTU 16V 2000 M86 2200 horse power which the yard says are good for about 24 to 25 -knots. The slightly more powerful 2 x MTU 16V 2000 M96 2400 horse power engines are also available and allow up to 27-knots top-end. This particular boat for the Asian client should be ready for launch by Summer of 2022.
