  1. 47-meter "La Vie" Launches At Mengi Yay
Turkish yacht builder Mengi Yay has launched their latest build - a 47-meter called "La Vie"-. The vessel has an internal volume of just under 500GT (498 GT). Design wise, that is the work of the VYD Studio while the interior was penned by Leonardo Santi Design. The hull design was drawn by Ginton Naval Architects. The yacht was launched to the water as recently as the 10th of April in Istanbul. La Vie is the first hull in the yard's 47 Virtus model and there are a reported two other hulls in build, the second sold and the third building on spec.
  2. On the 498 GT interior by Leonardo Santi Design, there is room to sleep up to ten (10) guests in five (5) cabins. Seven (7) crew can also be accommodated in four (4) cabins. The internal areas spread across three decks with an open air sun deck -partially covered by a hardtop-. Construction has been made in steel for the hull and aluminium for the superstructure.
  3. In terms of performance, she has not yet embarked on her sea trials. She is however, expected to attain a top end of 14.5-knots. She will not be a powerhouse with high top speeds but focus more on efficiency using a pair of CAT C32 marine diesels to push her displacement hull through the water. Cruising speed in fact is just 12-knots. Her length is in fact 47.3-meters with a beam of 8.8-meters and a draft reaching just 2.8-meters.
  4. Her appearance on the exterior is sleek and modern. This was the push from the start with VYD Studio. Clean and extending lines pervade the external surfaces and keep some features concealed from the untrained eye. For example, there are fold-down bulwarks on the outside of the dining/saloon area of the main deck. This allows clear views out when guests area utilizing the space particularly at anchor. The tender garage is oriented in a transverse manner utilizing the beam of the vessel to fit a sizable tender while not taking up too much space length wise if it were built in the traditional longitudinal orientation.
