  1. Next DS Model From Mazu: 112 DS
Something new has emerged from Mazu Yachts, a 34-meter (112 DS) variant from their DS range. The company already teased about the design earlier this year but now the full renders and final design are available. At 34-meters this will make the variant the flagship of this particular series. This new yacht is an elevation of the 92 DS offering more space for customers to enjoy. The exterior is one that was drawn from the boards of Red Yacht Design. In fact, both exterior and interior were handled by this design firm.
  2. The Mazu 112 DS borrows similar concepts from her smaller variants in the DS line. One of the biggest features onboard would be the beach club aft which is aided by the side bulwarks folding down to form an even larger terrace on the sea. The space can flow internally through massive sliding glass assemblies which is a feature being incorporated on yachts of this size with increasing frequency. With all this space being devoted to guest use at the aft end of the vessel, it is not surprising the propulsion package chosen was the very compact Volvo Penta IPS setup. She will be the largest vessel fitted with this propulsion package. Top speed is anticipated to be 21-knots and fast-cruise at around 16-knots along with a range-extending cruising speed of 12-knots using 4 Volvo IPS 1350s (1,000 HP each). They will feed from a total capacity of 15,000 LT of fuel.
  3. Besides the aft beach club region, another guest friendly space on the exterior will be the sun deck. This area although shaded towards mid deck with a large hardtop, is still a very open-air space. It is also packed with relaxing areas for guests to enjoy. Aft on the deck is a jacuzzi which is flanked on either side by large sunpads. Midships under the hardtop is an al-fresco dining area to seat all guests onboard . Flanking that to the port side is a dual-elevation bar ad the remainder of the space is taken up by built-in bench seating and space for loose furniture.
  4. The vessel is expected to displace around 150 tonnes with dimensions of 34.30-meters for the length and 7.60-meters for the beam with a draft 1.90-meters. Construction will see the yacht have a hull fashioned from steel and a composite superstructure with the decks finished in teak. The yacht is to be built to RINA standards. With Red Yacht Design handling both the exterior and interior, the Naval Architecture and engineering is being done by Alfa Marine Design.
  5. The Mazu 112 DS won't remain the largest in the range eternally as the yard suggests on its website that it will soon unveil the design for an even larger DS model, the 132 DS. They have only teased a shadow-highlight rendering so far with regards to the new 132 DS. As for the Mazu 112 DS, you can expect to see the first hull in 2023 as it is anticipated to be launched by then.
