  1. The Maritimo X60 MotorYacht
The Maritimo X60 made her debut in May at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show in Australia, fitting as it is an Australian built boat but she also came over to the 2018 edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) for her major American premiere. We say major because she also made an appearance at the Annopolis United States Power Boat Show prior. The X60 from this yard is making waves even though it is a new model and the first model in the new X-series. The second model the X50, revealed at the Sydney Boat Show in August, is under development and is expected to make debut in 2019.
  2. Let's look a little closer at the X60. As you would imagine on a boat this size, the brief will be to keep the interior plan as open as possible to make the footprint feel as big as possible. The saloon and wheelhouse are one space essentially but the nav station sits to the extreme fore of the space. The aft section services guests and keeps them entertained. However, one of the more dynamic spaces onboard is the beachclub...yes a beach club. It's hard to believe having this feature on a 60-foot boat but you can have this as an option. At the boat show, the area for the beachclub in the transom actually functioned like a guest master suite basically to show the options available. Back to the saloon, the area is open and by open we mean, can be opened up! There is not one but two sunroofs in the ceiling. The side windows also can be dropped down if needed.
  3. Maritimo lead designer, Tom Barry-Cotter said prior to her U.S debut, "The sales success Maritimo has recorded with this sport yacht so far is astounding and we believe it will resonate well with the luxury boat buying public in the USA...It truly is a revolutionary design and has brought super yacht thinking and amenity into the sport yacht sector which is a first. We have had strong interest already and I think that interest will peak when people can actually see the vessel up close for the first time in Annapolis. It will hold pride of place at our Maritimo on water display." Several boats are in production to head to New Zealand, North American, Europe and of course Australia. Powering this 60-footer is a pair of 925hp Scania engines. Top speed is near 34-knots but you can have even more powerful plants from Volvo with the Volvo 1000 horse power option.
