French builder JFA Yachts has been quiet recently but they ended that spell with the launching of their latest yacht. The Long Island 78 power Cat is their latest launch and it is completed with flag blue hulls and prominent white boot stripes. The design is by Marc Lombard with a Franck Darnet interior. The hulls were manufactured in aluminium while the superstructure is in composite materials.

The arrangement showcases living on three decks, the hulls, main deck as well as the upper deck. The main deck appears to house a combination galley and salon space. Forward of this space on the bow is a terrace with seating nook and a 'seawater bath' as the yard calls it. On the upper deck is the enclosed wheelhouse which appears to be the dedicated navigation area. Aft of this position is guest space fitted with built-in seating and and small tables for al fresco bites or cocktails. All the accommodations are located on the lower deck hulls. On the port side hull is the master suite as well as a twin cabin. The starboard side has two doubles and a bunk-style cabins.

The overall length of this yacht is 23.72-meters with a comfortable 11.17-meters. The draft is only 1.24-meters allowing this power cat to go most places. Power is provided by a pair of 500 horse power engines which are adequate to run her at 15-knots in half-load conditions. 12-knots is likely where she will cruise and even slower will assure Trans-Atlantic range. As with any catamaran, living onboard should be comfortable especially when at anchor. There are several outdoor areas to relax like the twin nets on the bow or the cockpit aft of the flybridge area or directly on the stern of the two hulls.
