News: Horizon FD102 Makes International Splash

Horizon FD102 Debuts On The World Stage

The last time YF wrote concerning Horizon Yacht's new FD102 it was when they announced the first sale for the model. Since then one of the launched units has been shown off by the yard when it debuted at the Horizon Open House which concluded a few days ago -held from January 14th to 16th-. The FD102 is designed by Cor D. Rover while the Naval Architecture and interior was designed in-house by the yard.

Since the debut at the Horizon Open House event we get to see the interior of this new vessel. Five cabins are onboard for guest use including a full-beam master suite on the forward main deck. Four other cabins are on the lower deck along with accommodation for up to six crew members in three cabins. The interior has three decks but the main and upper decks are the entertaining internal decks.

Below is the upper deck informal salon which is just aft of the bridge. It is fitted complete with an eating area and an adjacent bar. The area is lined by large windows on either side offering good views out. We would imagine that pocket doors slide out to separate the bridge from the aft informal saloon for night operations.

With 1,600 horse power per engine the FD102 can make a 21.4-knot top end. CAT C32 ACERT diesels are the installed power package onboard. The FD range is expanding and now we have from the FD77 up to the FD125 at present. Tender storage will be on the upper aft deck as there is a crane on that deck while images show a PWC stored in the transom.
