  1. Heesen Project 'Alba' Becomes "VanTom"
Dutch superyacht builder Heesen has opened up further about the yacht under construction known as project 'Alba'. The yacht is near completion now and they christened her in the shed very recently and now we know her final name is "VanTom". This yacht didn't always have an owner from the start, in fact the yacht commenced build on speculation and found an owner about a half-year later. The design of VanTom is of course by Omega Architects who create most of Heesen's distinctive sweeping lines.
  2. On the interior, there was a collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini. The owner and wife worked very closely with the designers to help implement their personal styling. She is due for delivery in January 2018 so she will be prepped for sea trials immediately to have that happen over the holidays in the wintry North Sea. The interior will be host to twelve guests across six cabins and the yacht is expected to be private and not available for charter. Performance comes via a pair of MTU marine diesels. Two 2,880 Kw engines can power this aluminium semi-displacement yacht to a top speed of 23-knots. At a continuous 11-knots, she will be able to roam for 3,100 nautical miles.
