News from Gocek Turkey

While enjoying the nice sunshine at the start of the season, I want to share some of the visiting boats at Gocek in the forum.

The first picture is Anebella of Jongert; one of the latest Jongert. She was visiting Gocek and already on her way westbound.

The second picture are local boats; Darnice and Cigdem.

Third picture is Golden Horn by Dereli. I think she is still for sale, presently used by the owner of the yard.

Fourth picture is Blue Fascination by Jongert, which is also a local boat.

The next one Turkish Gulet sailings on the south side among the hills.

Heesen had a strong presence

G-Force was in the area.
Her sister, local resident Let It Be stays in Port Gocek Marina.
The other boat is not a local one I presume she is also and older Heesen.
I think the boat next to Let It Be is an old Piccotti.

Feadship Samax was also in Gocek

Samax Russian owners were enjoying the Gocek bays as well.
This little boat was a good proof that taste and enjoying the water is not in the hands of priviliged few. In fact, the boat had a family with 3 young kids and they were really having a high time.
The last 2 pictures are not there to promote the Ferretti 830, but rather to record a nice sun set at Gocek. Enjoy it.

I see a lot of big boat activity on the Turkish coast this summer. I will try to share the ones I've recently captured during my recent cruise

1st boat in Gocek was "Blue Scorpion" of Baglietto.
4th and 5th pictures are from Scopia Marina jetty at Gocek and there is a Bennetti Tradition, sailboat "SYL" and "Blue Scorpion".

1st picture is of "Lady Joy" of Christensen; 2nd is "White Rose", she has started her journey at Istanbul; 3rd and 4th pictures are of a local boat "Jasmin" of RMK, designed by Dick Boon; 5th picture is "Andrea" of Delta Marine.

In this set;
1st picture is an old classic boat, I was not able to record the name and I have not seen her in the area before. Any contribution for her identity is most welcome. 2nd and 3rd pictures are a local boat "Tesu", built by Tecnomar and refitted last year at RMK; 4th is another local, "White King" of Moonen; 5th is the rear view of boats at Scorpia Marina.

In these pictures, I have recorded surroundings and anchorage for one of the best restaurants on the Turkish coast. It is named My Marina. They have recently upgraded the berthing facility and and have added some houses on the waterside. The facility is up on the hill, with a very nice view of the bay. There was also Numarine's 102 and sailboats along the jetty.

When I moved outside the bay, I've come accross 3 big ones anchored next to Dalyan beach at Koycegiz. Most probably the guest have come to visit old city of Kaunos and the tombs carved in the rock. For those who are interested further for the location, they can visit following sites:

The big ones in the order of appreance were;
- Boadicea of Amels;
- Saint Nicolas of Luerssen;
- Moneikos of Codecasa.

I moved in to take some close ups and realized that "Never Enough" of Feadship was also there, but she was dwarfted by the big 3.

De Vries Lentsch

De Vries is actually one of my favorite "Dutch" designers, indeed at one stage I was nearly buying one of his previous boats, "My Rachelle" as second hand; but the build quality and the condition of the boat was not to my liking.

Helios was in Selimiye
