Nordhavn's First N80 Moves To Test Tank

Today Nordhavn announced that the first Nordhavn N80 was launched into the testing tank. This is an important step ensuring that there are no possibilities of water ingress in the hull and other tests can be done that require the vessel to be sitting in the water. The Nordhavn N80 is actually 78.8-feet long with a beam of 23.4-feet. Below the waterline she draws just under 7-feet.

A pair of John Deere 375 horsepower diesels are onboard and they draw from a total capacity of 18,208 LT of fuel across all the tanks. Ocean-crossing range can be expected when cruising at approximately 9-knots. There is also 3,028 LT of fresh water storage onboard. The displacement of the N80 has been estimated to be 280,358 lbs. In terms of accommodation, preliminary drawings called for a three or four cabin layout for guests including a full-beam master suite on the forward main deck, and two or three cabins on the lower deck. The captain gets his own cabin directly located behind the wheelhouse. There are also options for the cabin layout particularly for the master suite. The N80 is a great size choice for those who do not want to go quite as large as the N86.
