  1. New Nordhavn 80 Expedition Yachtfisher
There are a few hulls that have taken to the water of the Nordhavn 80 but there is one particular hull presently under construction that will be the first Nordhavn 80 Expedition Yachtfisher. This yacht is being built for an avid fisherman who is a repeat customer of the yard. In fact, the customer who previously owned the Nordhavn 75 Expedition Yachtfisher called "Sockeye Blue" wants to step up with a bit more space. He loves the previous platform that he utilized for seven years but now needs a some more space and this in brief is how the N80 Expedition Yachtfisher came into being. It now will serve as a good step up as his new fishing platform.
  2. It also represents the first Expedition Yachtfisher over 24-meters for the yard. The client requested several modifications which included an approximate 1.5-meter hull-extension, some more space to the 'fighting deck' and 1.2-meters extra added to the upper aft deck. This will serve to create increased shading from the larger overhang. The hull and superstructure have already been joined and the yacht is expected to be launched this year.
  3. "Essentially he wanted us to bump out the back to increase the length and give him more space in the upper part of the California deck. The California deck on the N80 EYF will more closely resemble the one on N100 "Serenity". Primarily it was to give more clearance between the doorway and the seating area, but he had other things he wanted to tweak" said Jeff Leishman, Nordhavn Chief of Design. Like the current crop of recent models from Nordhavn, the N80 EYF will have 'frameless' bridge windows. The length overall is 24.4-meters with a beam of 6.8-meters and a draft of 2.1-meters. The extended waterline and longer prop shaft should translate into slightly better performance and handling.
  4. The interior will be fairly similar in volume but the difference will be seen and felt on the exterior which is what the customer wanted. Rather than including a regular cockpit area, the 80 EYF now has a three-foot longer California deck that extends into a secondary lower deck. Currently in build, the vessel will be shipped from the Nordhavn facilities in Xiamen, China. Once delivered the new yacht is expected to enjoy her premiere season in the waters of Fiji, New Caledonia and Vanuatu.
