  1. Project 'Spitfire' To Get Underway Soon
There is a new upcoming project that is set to commence construction in 2025 and likely be ready for delivery in 2027. The 51-meter (50.6-meter) yacht will see its design as a result of a collaboration between Lateral Naval Architects and Bannenberg & Rowell. It is called Project 'Spitfire' and will be driven by hybrid diesel-electric propulsion. It will be a performance-oriented vessel given that the hull will be based on it's builder's patrol boat design, the Ares 150 Bold. With that in mind, one can expect a top speed of 22-knots with a 2,200 nautical mile range. Additional tanks should be able to furnish greater range of 3,500 nautical miles if needed by the client.
  2. Earlier we mentioned that the vessel will by diesel-electric. That hybrid diesel-electric propulsion tends to permit a wider range of operations. For example, the yacht can be expected to be able to operate for an hour on electric power alone. With greater battery storage as an option, silent and vibration-free operation of the vessel is estimated to be extended to approximately to 11 hours.
  3. On the inside, there is accommodation for guests in 5 cabins. Those cabins include the master suite that is full-beam in composition. The master suite is located on the main deck forward and has access to an enclosed foredeck area which allows for a private outdoor terrace for the owner's suite. That cockpit area features a jacuzzi for the owner. The other guest cabins are situated on the lower deck.
  4. For the rest of the spaces onboard the theme has been 'flexible and informal living' which is why there is a melding of indoor and outdoor in a seamless manner. For example, the saloon has zero-threshold sliding doors so there is no stepping over door guides to enter of exit the space. This runs seamlessly with the aft cockpit area which provides built-in bench and sunbed seating facing fore and aft. An outdoor cinema can be set-up by the crew to maximize the space. Glazing is incorporated into the aft-most part of the space permitting natural light to penetrate to the beach club space below.
  5. Fold down terraces in the aft of the hull expand the beach club space on the exterior further. The addition of a transformer built-in to the swim platform serve to expand the swim platform as well. Moving through the folded-up transom door into the beach club reveals a space for relaxing, exercising and storage for personal water toys. Natural light enters the space via the overhead glazing as well as the aft opened door creating a relaxing area for guests to enjoy.
