  1. 127 Discovery By Cheoy Lee
The veil has been taken off the new Cheoy Lee 127 Discovery - a member of the yards new Discovery Series of yachts-. The idea was to have transoceanic range in order to get to places that a lot of yachts cannot. Ample space for proper crew, a lot of flexible spaces throughout the vessel, and for the first one, putting what you might find on 150-foot vessel in 127-foot envelope. The design is in collaboration with Boska Marine Design. She will be built with a steel hull with a clean sharp entry into the water. The center of gravity is low on the design to aid in seakeeping.
  2. Designed to be an explorer type yacht the wheelhouse is situated forward of the midships area allowing for better visibility for the captain. Many explorer category yachts have aft situated wheelhouses and has the advantage of giving a large foredeck area to store tenders but the visibility in font of the bow is not as great. This 38.7-meter vessel has placed the wheelhouse much further forward.
  3. The interior is going to be designed by Sylvia Bolton and you will find a five-cabin layout onboard for a minimum of 10 guests. The master is full-beam and on the main deck. For perspective of how spacious the master will be, the yacht has a beam of 8.79-meters. The other guest accommodation is on the lower deck. Up to 11 crew will be berthed for even though the yacht is capable of being handled by less crew that accommodation is provided for.
  4. According to Cheoy Lee the 127 Discovery will be equipped with a pair of 800-horse power Volvo D13 diesel engines. These engines will meet the standards of IMO Tier III. The yard estimates a top speed to be in the region of the 13-knot range with cruising speeds of about 11 or 12-knots and a long-range speed of about 10-knots. For that range, they are targeting around 4,000 nautical mile mark. You can meet with both Cheoy Lee Yachts and Boksa at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) to discuss the 127 Discovery in further detail.
