  1. Second Ocean Eco Power Cat Sold
ALVA Yachts is a German based yard that builds its yachts in Antalya, Turkey and their Ocean Eco Power catamarans are now starting to resonate with the market. Recent news coming out of this yard is that the second 28-meter hull has been sold. The first one, is sold and expected to be completed in 2023 as it is in the outfitting stage. The second hull is expected to complete towards the end of 2024. The Ocean Eco Power Catamarans come in two variants, an enclosed 'explorer'-style flybridge and the other has an open flybridge only covered by the hard top.
  2. That hardtop though is essential to the yacht producing much-needed extra electricity as that entire surface is to be covered in photo-voltaic cells. Four cabins appear to round out the accommodation for guests onboard with two cabins in each hull. The master suite is located in the starboard hull which can include a fold out terrace in the midships region of that hull. Two other cabins are reserved for crew. Given the yacht's 14-meter beam and having the accommodation in the hulls, the main deck is reserved for large social spaces geared towards entertainment and lounging.
  3. The foredeck has a huge area with built-in seating on either side and forward-facing views. No trampoline nets in this space as is typical on sailing cats. Moving inside the salon, that extra wide beam is very apparent. The space easily fits a formal dining section, lounging and bar all in an open-plan layout. Large windows and wide-opening doors flood the space with natural light and connects the sights and sounds of the exterior with the space.
  4. There is approximately 200 square meters of photo-voltaic cells on the upper surfaces of the yacht. A pair of 500kW electric motors run the vessel in silence. The yard also suggests that this model is fuel-cell ready for a client who wants to go in that direction. Milan Henn, at ALVA Yachts, said the yard was thrilled to have sold the second hull that has been in production. "It demonstrates its popularity for the lifestyle we imagine our owners to lead," he continued.
