If you have not heard of Alva Yachts before that may be because they are a young company now trying to make a mark for themselves. The German company is endeavouring to build this 27.5-meter luxury all-electric solar power catamaran called the Ocean Eco 90. The yard is offering the vessel with hybrid propulsion or all-electric propulsion for clients to choose from. Either way the yacht is expected to be ready for launch in late 2021.

With two types of propulsion being offered the speed of the vessel is naturally going to be calculated differently with 16-18-knots being the highest speed range envisioned. As you would expect, builders of solar-powered vessels tend to suggest they have almost an unlimited range which is usually appealing to buyers. Photovoltaic panels go a long way to helping the yacht have great range. The panels are incorporated into the skyward-facing surfaces of the vessel for optimal power generation. The entire hardtop is covered and in total they suggest 200 square meters of the yacht's upper surfaces are coated in them.

The design of this yacht was done by Henndesign and while no particulars were given on how many guests will be slept onboard one can assume, accommodation is in both hulls as well as the full-beam forward main deck position. Alva Yachts has come to the market not only with this Ocean Eco 90 build but two other models, including a Ocean Sail 82 which is presently under development.
