News: Alia Yachts Launch 55M "Al Waab II"

Another yacht has been splashed in Turkey. It is a major yacht this time around coming from the Alia Yachts yard in the form of their 55-meter superyacht "Al Waab II". While this yacht was under construction YF wrote a few articles chronicling her progress through build, now it is time to show you her launch. She takes her design lines from Vripack both internally and on the exterior. Once completed she will make her worldwide debut at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS).

Alia Yachts suggest that they are seeing a trend towards owners who want longer and wider yachts but do not want to go past the 500GT threshold. Al Waab II represents the start of this trend (at 488GT) and they are confident it will continue. Onboard the owner and guests will find six cabins. The master suite is actually located across two deck on this build. It is an interesting layout with the master suite bedroom area being located on the upper deck while the dressing and ensuite bathroom areas are downstairs on the main deck.

Power is provided by a pair of CAT C18 marine diesels. Construction saw her use steel for her hull and aluminium for her superstructure. The RINA-class vessel has a displacement hull form with a straighter bow and classic-looking flare. While not the largest build Alia Yachts have completed (that title goes to the 60-meter "Samurai"), Al Waab II will stand out for this Turkish builder. She will be prepared for her sea trials and further testing before being delivered to her owner and then displayed at the MYS in late September.
