Massive Project 6507 At Abeking & Rasmussen Launched

Project 6507 under construction by German yard Abeking & Rasmussen rolled into the light of day over the weekend. Although launched towards the end of 2022 this yacht naturally won't be ready for delivery until next year. Stretching 118.2-meters in length the vessel has alot of traditional and classic features to its design. Naval Architecture was completed by the yard themselves while the exterior design was the responsibility of Joseph Dirand. The interior too is by this designer.

Sporting a dark hull and white superstructure further accentuates the traditional direction and appeal. The project is suggested to be for a North American client. At her length she now represents the largest superyacht Abeking & Rasmussen has built to date. The design firm gives an insight into one of the stand-out features onboard. "For example, on the starboard side there is a Neptune lounge with a 3.40-meter x 1.30-meter underwater window that provides a unique view into the world below sea level."

Owing to the immense exterior deck space afforded by a vessel this size the designers and engineers were able to install a very large pool. That pool takes residence on the aft main deck and is certainly one of the centerpiece features onboard. With the pool on the aft, tender storage has been pushed to the bow section of the yacht and that garage is supported by large shell doors in the hull. The uppermost deck aft is home to a helipad for easy helicopter operations. The interior volume measures just over 5,000 GT encompassing the space within her steel hull and aluminium superstructure. She has a beam of approximately 16.8-meters (55.4-feet). Abeking & Rasmussen kept information on this project to a minimum while it has been under construction.
