  1. Aero 45 By A-Line Marine
A new super tender/day boat is soon to be on the market it is called the Aero 45 from a company called A-Line Marine. The Aero 45 is basically a large RIB with the luxury of a larger motor yacht and there appears to be many ways you can finish this craft too. There is a version with inboard propulsion as well as outboard engines. The founder of A-Line Marine Alexis Fotilas commented, "one of the reasons we decided to go with full aluminum hull and deck is the fact that everything is hand made allowing for layout modifications and customization according to clients’ needs."
  2. Yes the boat is being built out of aluminium which is a bit strange for a RIB-type vessel in this size bracket. Clearly the ability to allow the client to customize the vessel to a large degree was a big driving factor in the build-material choice. With the absence of moulds and plugs there is a level of customization that can be made from client to client. Options like a walk-around deck, additional cockpit seats or aft counter-facing dining area can be developed amongst other solutions.
  3. The hull design was done by Swedish firm Petestep. The interior is likely permitted some freedoms that the client can explore. Onboard this vessel has a single cabin with an ensuite bath and plenty windows around via side lights and hatches/skylights. There is actually another bedded area on the interior that can function as a second 'cabin' but it isn't a true cabin. Below is an example of how the interior cabin area can be finished. The possibilities are endless within the small footprint given.
  4. A-Line Marine has also toyed with the idea of having a 'beach club' facility on the transom too. On the outboard version there is a section that lifts upward to reveal a snug area which is fitted with seating areas, twin beds, etc. The company is giving you the opportunity to have some smaller 'superyacht' features on this size platform. It appears as there is a privacy shade that is connected to cover the sides of the opened hatch area too. It would be a nice feature when at anchor -perhaps the only time you will be able to use it without too many prying eyes-.
  5. On deck there are other opportunities to finish the way the client see's fit. Aft of the helm position is where some customizations can take place. You can have a wet bar that can be used teppanyaki style. Sunpads on the fore and aft as well as built-in seating midships. The helm and midshhips deck areas are covered by a T-Top which can be all glass or another material or even be fitted with semi-transparent photovoltaic cells to help offset some of the hotel load.
  6. The builder is offering a number of power options. The top speed is projected to be 50 to 60-knots depending on which power package is chosen. Two Volvo Penta 440dpi promises 50-knots with 900 LT tank and 250 LT fresh water capacity. Three 450 horse power Mercury Verados promise a top end of 60-knots with 1,200 LT fuel capacity and the same 250 LT for fresh water. The other option is Yamaha XTO 425hp which offers a 56-knot top end with the same amount of fuel and fresh water storage.
  7. Basic dimensions of the A-Line Marine Aero 45 is a length of 14-meters a beam of 4-meters and a draft of 1-meter. The dry weight varies depending on which power package is installed but the heaviest is 7,000 KG which would be approximately 15,500 lbs. The first hull has been purchased and will go to an experienced owner who is expected to take delivery of the craft in 2023. A-Line Marine is suggesting to clients that the vessel can be utilized as a stand-alone vessel or as a chase boat to a superyacht.
