  1. "SAN" Ready For Her World Debut
The 45-meter superyacht "SAN" is a landmark yacht in many ways. After being launched the custom vessel has been going through final outfitting and sea trials and is about to be delivered. Sporting a design by Sinot Yacht & Architecture with Naval Architecture via Lateral Naval Architects. Construction has been in all aluminium. We say this is a landmark yacht but in what way?
  2. SAN is the largest yacht to be powered by Volvo Penta IPS. In fact, she carries 4 units allowing the yacht to benefit from all the advantages of the IPS system. The system is very compact, not taking up as much space as a traditional engine setup. Then there is the efficiency aspect as IPS consumes approximately 30% less fuel and expels 30% emissions as compared to regular shaft-linked engines. The engines also allow for more precise maneuvering and under full operation creates half the noise of regular engines. The yacht tends to see a boost in range too.
  3. Given the layout of the vessel, accommodation is set on the lower deck with 4 to 5 cabins available inclusive of an owner's suite. Additionally the yacht's main deck features open plan real estate void of any major viewing obstacles from stern towards the bow giving further sense of space and openness. Interior is also by Sinot. The al-fresco areas onboard are also modular in the sense that the exterior deck furniture is multi-functional and multi-purpose. For example... "Tables convert from a dining to an evening cocktail setup and sunbathing areas convert easily into intimate seating. The aft deck sunbathing area can be expanded by folding the bulwarks down, providing even more of an outdoor living space experience", according to Paul Costerus, lead designer at Sinot Yacht & Architecture.
  4. Despite being near to delivery, her builder has not released major information about the yacht especially concerning performance figures. Given the compact and efficient nature of the Volvo Penta IPS setup, this aluminium 370 GT yacht will have decent performance. She should be registered in Malta once completed. The yacht is slated to make her world debut at the 2024 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS).
