  1. KRC Yachting To Build 43-meter Project 'Orca'
Another ready-to-be-built explorer-type model has been unveiled. It is coming from Turkey where KRC Yachting has their shipyard and will be building the vessel once a contract is signed. They have collaborated with an Italian designer, Italstyle Yacht Design to bring the luxury elements and style needed to make this explorer feel not only comfortable but stately on the seas. The newly proposed vessel named 'Orca' will be close to 43-meters in length.
  2. Should a contract be signed the yard is suggesting that the build will take 26 months to complete. As it is meant to be an explorer type vessel construction is expected to be made in steel for the hull and aluminium for the superstructure. At least from a stylistic point-of-view, the exterior design lends to the explorer type with a tug-like bow and long aft main deck...again similar to a tug. The superstructure contains the main, upper and sun decks.
  3. Although her long aft hull is reminiscent of a tug, it won't be a working area. It will all be a leisure experience in this area with al-fresco dining, layout pads and fold-down bulwarks. In fact, fold-outs and shell doors is a theme on this design. Outside of the main salon on the main deck the bulwarks also fold-down to improve the views out towards the water. Up front moving towards the bow area there is a shell-down that will fold-down on command to form a balcony for the main suite onboard.
  4. Within her estimated 390 GT interior volume the yacht is expected to sleep up to 11 guests in 7 cabins. There are four regular guest-level cabins also two VIP-standard cabins along with the primary accommodation for the owner. With efficiency in mind, the yacht is only crewed by a handful with accommodation being provided for just four on this 43-meter vessel.
  5. As an explorer her long-range capability is where she shines. Being powered by MAN diesel engines each rated at around 900 horse power the vessel won't be a speedster but focus more on efficiency. Her maximum speed will be 13-knots and cruise at 11-knots. Dial her back even further to approximately 8-knots on the range extends to around 4,000 nautical miles which is sufficient to aid her ocean-crossing exploits.
  6. The bridge takes residence on the highest portion of the interior superstructure but there is also provision for a navigation station on the fore of the flybridge/sundeck. Of course this can be changed if the new owner prefers to have the vessel without an external nav station. Besides the opportunity for a secondary nav station, the guests have the luxury of relaxing on the highest deck too. Partially covered by a hard top, there are cocktail tables, and sunpads for them to enjoy the surrounding views. There is a jacuzzi located on the aft upper deck flanked by sunpads to round-out the deck experiences onboard.
