43 Year Old "Jagare" Returns To A&R For Yard's 117th Birthday

Abeking & Rasmussen is known for building superb luxury custom superyachts and they have a history that stretches back for over a century. In fact the yard is celebrating its 117th birthday and during this momentous occasion the 37-meter sailing yacht "Jagare" has returned to the yard of its birth. This vessel started construction back in 1981 as hull 6378 for the father of the current owner. The sailing yacht has only been a part of this particular family for the last 43 years. The current owner is the father's daughter who was 12 years old when construction on the yacht commenced.

Now, 43 years later, Jagare returns to its birthplace after a successful summer season in Northern Europe. This homecoming is not merely a technical maintenance stop, but a meaningful moment that unites history, passion, and craftsmanship. With an overall length of 36.5-meters, a beam of 8.08-meters, a draft of 3.51-meters and a gross tonnage of 221 GT, the yacht represents masterful engineering and exceptional craftsmanship. The yacht has been all around the world touching many extreme climes while creating many lasting memories for the family.

Construction was made in aluminum permitting relatively lightweight build but robust construction. On the 221 GT interior there is accommodation for up to 9 guests and 6 crew members. 26,117 LT of fuel can be kept onboard which can ensure long range at sea with her strong engine providing a 12-knot top speed. Thus she is very efficient with the fuel she stores onboard. With Jagare’s return to Lemwerder, A&R not only celebrates the craftsmanship and heritage of the past decades but also showcases the timeless elegance and performance of its yachts.
