  1. CCN Launches 31.2-meter Yacht "Vanadis"
Italian yard CCN has launched their newest and latest luxury yacht. The 31.2-meter vessel is part of what they call the Fuoriserie custom line of yachts. Her name is "Vanadis" and she was launched into the water in the presence of her European owner. Based on the flags present at the ceremony we can assume the owner hails probably from Germany.
  2. The design of this yacht is by Guido de Groot. In fact the interior is also by this design company while the Naval Architecture is by Ginton Naval Architects. As for the name of the yacht the owner decided to christen the vessel as Vanadis which in Norse custom and mythology signifies war, death, love, beauty, fertility and gold It is also the Norse goddess Freyja.
  3. Onboard we find accommodation for six guests inclusive of the owner. There are three cabins for guests all located on the lower deck. Midships you will find a master suite for the owner and two other cabins. A crew of four also can be housed. The yacht is powered by a hybrid system with Schottel machinery onboard. A pair of STP 150 FP propel the vessel but they are also connected to a pair of CAT C9.3B diesel engines. Vanadis isn't very fast as her top speed is only slated to be 12.5-knots. However, she is economical with a cruising speed at 8.5-knots or so in electric mode. Naturally she is fitted with lithium ion batteries to store electricity that can allow her to run on them for about 17 hours before having to regenerate them.
