Hey guys just recently replaced my stock windlass with an Anchorlift Mako 2024 Windlass and for some reason things are not working. Schematic for the wiring shown below. Currently both of my foot switches properly engages the solenoid and I get good "clicking" out of it. That being said the motor is not turning in either direction and I dont know why. Battery voltage at the solenoid is 27vdc, When I engage the solenoid (press foot switch) and measure across M1 and M2 I get absolutely nothing. I have tried two different solenoids and Im getting the same results. The only thing that I cannot absolutely 100% verify is whether A2 on the motor is connected to the battery negative terminal. That being said, I cant see that preventing voltage from crossing the relay or am I crazy?

Any ideas? Im going crazy here. Thanks for your time!

    Dustin

Is there a breaker or battery switch that's off?

I dont think so. Like I said, voltage to the solenoid is good, and the voltage being applied to the solenoid at A1/A2 is good. I would think once voltage is applied at solenoid A1 or A2 you should read 27v between M1 and M2.. Thats my issue Im not seeing anything there.

If you have voltage at the solenoid on A1 and A2, then you either have no voltage on the switch or the solenoid is bad. I'd be looking at voltage on the switch first.

I think you got it wrong. Looking at the diagram M1 and M2 are both positive and only one will be energized depending on whether your raising or dropping.

you need to check voltage between either M1 OR M2 and negative

also make sure you have voltage between the + terminal on the solenoid and negative.

Power to the switches to activate the solenoids is different from the actual power going to the windlass. If the solenoid click. Then you issue is with the power feeding the motor itself

I was thinking similar to Pascal. And if you are uncertain if you have ground then that's a potential big problem. You gotta have both + and - to complete the circuit. Can you tell us how you are checking for voltage at M1 or M2? Are you test leads on M1 and ground when you engage the switch and you get nothing? Then are you measuring the same for M2 with test leads on M2 and ground? Sorry to ask basic questions but trying to understand so we can be helpful.

If you cannot confirm the negative is connected, run a temp cable to create a reliable circuit for troubleshooting.
