  1. Vanquish VQ80 Chase Yacht Launched
Believe it or not the recently launched yacht seen below is bound to be a chase 'boat' for another yacht -that is currently under construction-. Below is the Vanquish VQ80 Sportfish, a 24-meter luxury vessel in itself that will serve 60-meter Project 'Skyfall'. Project Skyfall is scheduled to be completed in 2023. As for the VQ80 Sportfish it will be quick to provide the supporting roles as well as sportfishing platforms when needed. Designed by Guido de Groot the 24-meter yacht matches her in-build mother very closely.
  2. Below is a quick glimpse at what Project Skyfall will look like once completed and so you can see the close resemblance of the two vessels in design and paintwork. Project Skyfall will be a 60-meter vessel Construction started on the mothership in October of 2020 and the superyacht is expected to be delivered in 2023 to her owner. Omega Architects are responsible for her exterior design while the interior is the work of Harrison Eidsgaard. Being built of aluminium with a Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) the mother ship will be a speedster herself with an estimated top speed of 37-knots. Therefore there is a need to a fast chase yacht.
  3. The Vanquish VQ80 Sportfish will be up to the task with an estimated 51-knot top speed and high cruising speed of 48-knots. Powering her are a pair of CAT marine diesels. Ensuring that the vessel is sculpted to provide optimum efficiency while going through the water is Naval Architects Studio Delta. Despite being designed by different design studios as compared to the mothership, there was purposeful consensus on ensuring the Chase yacht pays homage and has a striking resemblance to the mothership.
  4. Three cabins are onboard to sleep up to six guests while there is room for two crew members to operate. "The client has set out to create a very special sportfish that resembles nothing else on the water today. We had to play a lot with the proportions in order to get the height right, especially with the tuna tower on top, part of which has been integrated into the superstructure. The same applies to the spacious stern fishing cockpit, the upper line of which flows over the hull and blends with the engine room and cabin windows to generate a unified design signature as well as a true sense of swiftness", said Guido de Groot. The yacht is expected to conduct her sea trials soon.
