Howdy all, Just bought a new to me 2008 Cheoy Lee Bravo 78 with 3412E Cats. I have owned boat since Christmas. I like the layout of the boat and have had no real problems so far. I have not had it out is any kind of seas yet. I just sold my 1989 Hatteras motor yacht and was an active participant on the Hatteras Owners Forum. What do you guys know about the Cheoy Lee Bravo boats? Good, bad, ugly? Anything I should watch out for? Seems to me most components are American, Italian, and German. Stainless is holding up quite well. Thanks for input. Tony
That was the only one they made I believe. A captain I know used to run it, named Jason. I've heard that it's a great sea boat and rides very well. I looked at it for an owner of mine who was somewhat interested in buying it, and it has a lot of hours on it for it's age.
I think they have made several of the 78s? I think a new one is being delivered soon. The Bravo series has been around with a 72, 78, 81, 84, 88, and more. My boat is the boat that Cpt. Jason ran. He took pretty good care of her.
I sea trialed the 78' Bravo and we published a review on it several years ago. As CaptJ said, a good running boat... https://www.yachtforums.com/review/cheoy-lee-78-bravo.12298/ Hours on a boat aren't necessarily a bad thing. Things tend to break when they aren't used. Go figure!
Trak is right, Cheoy Lee has built several Bravo 78's. The model is current and the latest hull just arrived from the factory with new layout.
