can I install a heat exchanger for cooling on my Walter Vee drive? My starboard hose fitting rotted off and I was thinking about just rerouting the oil lines to a separate heat exchanger. Sound ok?

If I recall, the Walter drive cases were water cooled.
You are looking at oil or water lines?

The clutch (separate assembly) may require oil cooling.

NO. The other heat exchanger is sized to cool off whatever it is that it's already cooling off. Fix what you have properly.
