Not at all, but I believe the guidelines I linked to are quite self explanatory.

Bearing in mind Kevin's guidelines about promoting one's business interests, I shall nevertheless extend a warm welcome to you and these forums.

I myself have a great interest in marine photography. I'm especially interested in mermaids of all sorts. If you've anything better on the subject than Horny Manatee then please share...:)

Do you not think that whilst introducing my self I should not say what my job is ? Is this not of interest and relevant that I should say that ? After all I was only saying Hi and introducing myself ? Not promoting my work or any part of it. Would a designer, bulider, skipper, deck hand not be permitted that ?

    Rich,

The very first line of the guidelines reads "Commercial Signatures and hyperlinks are NOT allowed in posts or on your signature line." That's pretty straightforward, is it not?

And to answer your question.... yes, designers and builders who make no contribution to yachtforums.com other than a self promotional link are removed.

    Please keep that in mind.

    Dear Mr. Page,

You seem to be quick to take exception with the most basic guidelines that govern most forums. I think we'll get along fabulously, because I'm pretty quick to resolve such issues.

If you have something of interest to add to the discussion, you're input is most welcome, but signing up to promote yourself is generally considered poor forum etiquette. If you'd like to participate in this community, then get involved in the discussions. Should a question arise regarding photography, this would be a good opportunity to share your knowledge, thus earning the respect of readers and members worldwide. In time, business will follow.

    Hi,

    Welcome to Yacht Forums.

You should after 2 yrs or lurking have seen more than one member reminded of the rules of the forums.

Not that long ago during what was becoming a lively discussion, but has since proved to be a lot of hot air, one of my posts was just deleted outright.

I didn't lose any sleep over it.

You could use the URL to your business website as a part of your public profile without violating the T & C's of being a Poster here.

The BOI is a beautiful part of the world I for one would be interested in seeing some of your pictures from there.

    Hi Rich-Page.

Welcome to YF. I hope you will stay as i love photography and i am sure you will be able to share experience and your photos with us. I am in the midst of buying a Digital SLR and would like your advice as I am going to be in Valencia for the Americas Cup. And as a marine photographer you must have some great photos to show. They are strict on this forum but I am sure it is for good reasons.

    Rich,

I just want to say thank you for an entertaining lunch hour. While taking a bite of my tuna sandwich, I thought I smelled something fishy. Turns out, it was coming from you.

I have deleted your avatar no less than 3 times and you continue upload it, again… with no respect for the guidelines of this website. You must really like seeing your mug splattered all over forums, because so far I’ve found about 10 promotional postings on various websites within the last 36-48 hours. I’m sure there are many more you’re attempting to draw traffic from, but YachtForums will NOT be one of them.

I found it interesting that you’re a member of over-clockers. Clearly, you have an understanding of the digital world, whether it be images, hardware… or just slithering around forums depositing your droppings in hopes of some search engine notoriety.

As previously requested, I am removing your membership. I take exception with misleading conduct. These are just a few of the recent promotional postings that have turned up in a search. No telling how many more you’ve made…
