Here is the new marina "Yacht Port Cartagena", a marina build to attend the needs for yachts from 25m to 120m in the centre of the town of Cartagena (remember from where Hannibal left to fight the romans on his white elephant)

The marina is situated between cape´s " Cabo de gata" and "Cabo de palos " in Spain and this is the ideal stop on your way in or out of the med (200 miles from Gib.). This marina also fullfills all your needs and complies with the ISPS rules!!!! The town is a middle size town on it´s way to adapt to the nautical industry. There is a web site that you can check out (www.yachtportcartagena.com) The web is made in a very useful way, you can book via the web from flights to a table in the restaurants, even a slot in the shipyard wich has a sincrolift of 5500 tons !!!

A complete paint shed can attend up to 4 vessels at the same time. For sure this place is the future today.

    Hi Leo
Is Spain not a renowened area for "pirates" and kidnapping or have I been misinformed?

It might have happened, especially 300 years ago, but as recently discussed in another thread, the hotspots today are elsewhere. Here is a map; http://www.YachtForums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10232&postcount=9
