  1. JFA launches 43-meter Expedition Yacht

French yard JFA recently launched their latest yacht. JFA is known for the building of the "Bystander", "Zeepaard" (ex. "Axantha") and many other expedition and explorer styled yachts. The newest launch is also of the expedition type and measures 43-meters in length.

Built under the hull identification 22C, she is of all aluminum construction. If she looks familiar, that might be as a result of her design inspiration from the 2003-built Zeepaard (ex. Axantha). The new yacht is essentially an enlarged version. She is designed by Vripack and built to Lloyds and is MCA compliant.

The new launch can be economically sailed as far as 4,500 nautical miles at just over 10 knots. She mounts dual Cummins QSK-19M engines with a total horse power of 1500. Ten to eleven guests can be accommodated in five cabins, inclusive of the Master stateroom. Owing to the fact that she is an Explorer styled yacht with the superstructure mainly located aft of the midships mark, the Master is located on the lower deck. Hull 22C will be completed in time for the popular 2011 Summer season.
