Fincanteri launches 134-meter "Serene"​

Italian ship builder Fincanteri immersed themselves into the large yacht market about four years ago and announced contract for a large 130+ meter yacht. This yacht, hull # 6154 started construction late in 2006 and it has been a long road but finally the new Yacht Division at Fincanteri has proudly launched their first yacht today. Fincanteri hull 6154 is called "Serene".

Serene has been built to a design by world renowned Espen Oeino. The massive interior has been designed by Reymond Langton. She has been built at Fincanteri's Muggiano (La Spezia) yard and is now in the final phases of construction. With her launch, she is expected to be completed and delivered before the end of the year.

The Oeino design boasts seven decks and a beautiful sweeping design. It is not easy to maintain proportion and style on a yacht this size but Oeino and his team must be credited for an excellent job done on the Serene. The interior by Reymond Langton is spacious naturally due to the size of the yacht. There is over 2,500 sq meters of interior space, actually "... 2,700 square metres of luxury interior space designed by Pascale Reymond of Reymond Langton Design, one of the most trend-setting yacht interior designers."

Fincanteri states there are two heli pads on Serene, the forward one on the bow is special because, below the landing platform is a spacious hanger for a large helicopter. The other pad is on one of the upper aft decks. There is also another key feature onboard Serene. Fincanteri says there is..."storage for a large submarine able to reach a depth of more than 100 metres, a huge internal sea water pool that can be also used for tender docking."

The 134-meter Serene (hull 6154) is Fincanteri's first yacht launch and this comes a few weeks after they signed another contract for a 140-meter Yacht dubbed "Victory". Serene, will continue with fit out and final work. Extensive sea trials will also be conducted and as long as the schedule goes to plan, she should be delivered before the end of 2010.
