  1. ADM Shipyards launch 141-meter "Yas" superyacht (ex. Swift 141)

The ADM Shipyards in Abu Dhabi (UAE) successfully launched the ultra large project known under the build name 'Swift 141'. The vessel was once an ex-naval frigate that was converted into a high-rolling luxury superyacht. Swift 141 is now called "Yas" as her final name and has been redesigned by the French studio Pierre Jean Design inside and out.

One look at the vessel and she is stunning in many aspects. Some may call her odd looking but it is a good break from traditional design. Her 'odd' appearance comes from very fluid curves and shapes all over the superstructure where composite meets over-the-top expansive glass surfaces.

As an ex. Naval Frigate, her hull lines were originally designed for speed. Even now as a superyacht, Yas and her hull will aid in high speeds for her size. At her size top speed is expected to be in the region of 26-knots. Outside of her powerful engines she also has tender control of her position while laying. Dynamic positioning will be aided by her two bow and single stern thrusters.

Other special features aboard Yas include a sizable pool with spa, collection for a myriad of toys, a carbon fiber door that doubles as a boarding platform or swim platform and having the notation of having the largest composite superstructure done so far. Her classification is under Det Norske Veritas (DNV). Yas is another different design sitting atop a conventional hull. Keeping things refreshing and striking she will definitely turn heads where ever she travels.
