A quick update... 1. Two new feature reviews will go live in January. 2. New categories have been created for: Yacht Escort Ships and Yacht Transport Ships. 3. About a year ago, I started compiling a list of independent yacht websites. This has been posted under "Industry Links". If you have a site that should be added, please notify me. 4. I'm working on a new feature that should go live in the 2nd quarter of 2007. This is a large project involving the participation of nearly 100 yacht builders... and a ton of code work. More on this later. Time to get busy...
Couple of notes... 1. In December, I put the finishing touches on some pretty unique coding. I have been monitoring the performance ever since. I'm glad to say... this has increased our traffic by approx 10% and we're reaching a deeper, more refined level of propagation on the net. 2. On September 1st, 2006, we surpassed 5,000 members. As of today, we eclipsed 6,000 members. With the revised coding, we will add members at an increasing rate. But... quality is more important than quantity. The caliber of people joining YF is impressive, although due to their apparent inability to post... I question if they have fingers. Back to working like a mad scientist trumped up on caffeine and sugar...
Carl, Congrats on reaching another milestone. The sky's the limit (as long as the bank holds out for the hardware). There are many lurkers on this forum, like many forums. So let me ask this: even if you don't have a question or something to share, those that peruse this forum for information, why don't you drop a line and let us/Carl know if the site is useful and a good resource. A quick note, that's all, telling us what you like/dislike about the site (leave the comments about other members to a minimum). Whatta ya say? (Sound: creaking from opening the proverbial can of worms)
Carl, Congrats on hitting the 6,000 mark. This is indeed GOOD NEWS for the NEW YEAR! More power to YF! Arnie
Don't thank me guys, thank yourselves. It takes a group effort to make this whole thing work. Since Tom came to Florida, he's been actively involved in the yachting community.. and not just ours. And Arnie always has helpful info to share along with a genuine and hearty welcome. Not sure what else we can do draw in lurkers, but I've been giving some SERIOUS thought to starting some threads that are packed full inaccuracies. This seems to be one the number one way to get new people to post... when WE ARE WRONG! Of course... that never happens!
