I'm licensed just over a year now (Master 25) and an AVID fisherman. If you know of a single captain (historically, wives prefer me not spending time with their hubbies -- first appearances...) who needs some help - and who can help me gain more time & tonnage, particularly off-shore, I'll appreciate the referral. I'm based in Manhattan and Long Island. Time is somewhat flexible. Cheers!

It isn't clear what exactly you are looking for? Are you looking for a full time job, or just a way to get some experience and log some seatime? (and avoid making wives upset :p )

    Natalie,
If I remember correctly, don't you run a fishing/guide biz on LI (I'm formerly from LI)? I may be able to hook you up with a captain on a dinner boat out of NYC who you may be able to work something out with, as in getting sea time. This may help you get the bump to 100 ton inland. What's the largest boat/yacht you have captained?

Hello, Ken. I work full time in Manhattan M-F, so this is for occasional (weekends or nights -- and occasional weekdays I take off for good trips -- that schedules allow) to add experience/sea time. Much thanks for your question.

Hi, Tom. Have we met...at industry shows or captain school? In recent years I've been mainly on 25' fishers, plus some 28-32 sport. Monday through Friday I work and live in Manhattan; weekends and getaway weekdays are spent on LI & it's waters. I quite comfortable in City waters as well. Thanks very much.

    Hi Natalie,
No, we haven't met but I thought I saw an article about you in Newsday a while ago. Perhaps it was about another lady-fisher running charters on Long Island (young and attractive, hence the wives comment).
Will be up on LI this weekend, and hitting Port Washington Monday AM on a charter out of MBM. Searching out the cow bass and maybe some blues. I'll ask my friend of he's looking for help on his boat.

Hi, Tom. You are probably referring to Barb Fusco. You may have met me with Capt. Rich Tenreiro -- and The Fisherman had me on a cover inset a couple of years back (hoping they use my 36++lb bass photo for a cover this summer. Did you fish with Rich today? He said he had a good charter. I got quality porgies with him on Satuday out of Huntington -- a 2.9 lber that day was my record and many were close to that size. Twas a good day.
