    Guys,

I'm just before leaving for the Air Show, but I'd like to leave you with something new...YF Active!

I'll leave it up to you to find the new feature and activate it. Good luck!

By the way, this new function will be used to promote the Member's Rewards program and upcoming feature reviews, but for now... we're using it to showcase the M-140 video.

Hope you like it! (Actually, I hope you can find it!) :D

Have a good day everyone. I'm outa here!

Found it. But "activating" it did not produce any fireworks. Nor could I see that the M-140 video thread was treated any differently than the other threads. Looks to be simply an alternative index for thread navigation?

Found it too :) Nice idea, Carl. But what do you mean with "Activate"? 'Cause it works.

    Carl,
Are you talking about the "Active Strip" right above the YF Banner on the Home Page?
It's a nice way of highlighting a New Feature, such as the M-140 video.
I was expecting a lot more "bells and whistles", though.

One thing I just thought of Carl... on the video page you could just add in a quick link to the M-140 feature article, so after everyone drools over the video they could go check out the rest of it right away.

    Kelly,

I'm a little confused, but I also had a lot of sun today, so my brain might be fried. Let me see if I can clarify this...

A little Flash was installed on YF. Nothing too dramatic because it can really slow things down (a lot!). We were trying to create a little touch of class to the site with some text that rolls over on top of the header, conveying whatever the message of the week/month might be. If you click on the text when it reads "Feature: See the World's Fastest Yacht"... a curtain drops down over the YF header with the M-140 featured along with some text that reads "Yachting Goes Ballistic" and some details about the M-140. You can click on the curtain and it will take you to directly to the video.

But this was just an exercise. We're using this "roll-down curtain" to feature upcoming reviews and the Member's Rewards program. I think it adds a nice touch to YF. :)

Is this why I'm being asked to install Flash Player 8?

    Kelly,

In IE, go to "Tools", select "Internet Options", click the "Advanced" tab, scroll down to "Multimedia". Make sure the box for "Play Animations" is checked. "Play Sounds" and "Play Videos" should also be checked.

    See if this helps... :)

Still no workie. Guess either I am using the wrong "Archive" (I'm using the menu bar at the bottom of the page) or my Flash isn't up to date enough.

A couple of notes on the new Active Flash strip on the YF header...

    1. When you first log-in, the system will give you a Welcome Back message, with your screen name.

    2. When you receive a Private Message, you'll be notified on the active strip.

    3. When the Member's Rewards program is ready to go (I'm working on it!), it will prompt you with info on the same, including a roll-down screen with the preliminary details. Clicking on this will take you to a page that outlines the program.

And finally, I want to give you an update on this program. Follow this link...
