  1. Newcruise Design show new yacht designs at MYS 2012

The German yacht design company Newcruise Design presented a few new designs at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). One of the designs is in the form of a luxury tug, in fact, it is called MY “Tug”. The other design is dubbed MY “Cube” and for good reason!

MY Tug is really a tug platform for exploring but doesn’t sacrifice the luxury appeal of yachting. Basically she’s an ocean-going tug with styling and amenities that softens the character of an otherwise rugged yacht. Sporting features to outfit her persona she would be the perfect yacht for the avid explorer. Bare in mind, this design comes in three variant sizes, 42-meter, 45-meter and 47-meter. This particular variant is the 45-meter yacht.

MY Tug has a heli pad on the aft upper deck for the yacht’s helicopter tender. Below the heli-pad is room to store the vessels’ RIB tenders (X2). Forward of the helipad is a relaxation area fitted with a jacuzzi and pads to lay or sit on and enjoy the view a that pristine bay or cove while at anchor.
  2. The other design unveiled is one for a 75-meter superyacht called MY Cube. The name is perfect for this superyacht as it really represents industrial and architectural shapes. Great lengths were taken by Newcruise design to isolate the design from the conventional way of designing exterior styling for modern-day yachts. The result is a superyacht that greatly stands out from the pool of comtemporary-designed vessels on the drawing boards. MY Cube salutes classic vessels and houses of the Deco period combined with a modern twist.

The seemingly random placement of vertical glazing effortlessly span two-deck areas. This gives the spaces they frame wonderful views to the outdoors. A lot about this design can be considered bold. The bow is mainly straight which then arches inward towards the surface contact area with the water. The bow is clad in a highly polished plate showing the regard for industrial inspiration. Tenders are stored in a dedicated garage on the aft lower deck. With so many flat surfaces created by virtue of the Cube influence shape and styling, there are many wide open areas to place external furniture and accessory pieces. These two designs represent the highlight work of Newcruise Design and drove interest at their stand DG13 at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS).
