  1. Owen Clarke Design to unveil new 40M sloop at MYS

When the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) gets underway in just over a week's time several designs will be unveiled and showcased at the show. One such design destined to be unveiled is a 40-meter blue-water sloop by Owen Clarke Design. The new design is billed as being capable of making quick oceanic passages in a safe and secure platform.

One of the standout features is the so-called dreadnought bow, which was a popular feature of by-gone warships. It offers more space at the bow for sailing gear and naturally slightly increases the waterline. A look at the design allows you to see her low profile to the water there by bringing persons onboard closer to the water for a thrilling experience, whether under sail or at anchor.

On the inside, Owen Clarke Designs made it possible to have either a four or five-cabin layout. Four cabins for the rest of the crew while the captain has their own cabin. The look overall of the yacht is modern. The rig consists of a single mast with three-spreader staging. A boom controls the powerful main sheet. For more on this new development, be sure to see the design at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) this month.
