  1. Sergio Cutolo pens 57-meter Explorer design

Sergio Cutolo of Italian design firm Hydro Tec recently designed an explorer superyacht of 57-meters LOA. The design spans four decks with an open sun deck partially covered by a hard top. The look given by Cutolo offers more of a traditional explorer appearance. Generous forward-sloping windows help aid the utilitarian explorer vibe.
  2. The design boasts a number of features found on larger craft. The design for this explorer evolved because the project started out as sketches for a particular client that they did not fully follow through on the project and Cutolo decided to finish up the design himself. A large touch-and-go helipad is perched one deck above the aft main deck. Larger tenders are stored just forward of the helipad area on the main deck.

Other enviable features include a large jacuzzi pool flanked by built-in seating and sunpad region, located on the aft bridge deck. One deck above the main deck and forward just off the bow there is a large sunpadded area sheltered by high bulwarks, this area probably is the owner's private terrace. Saloons and entertainment spaces are all located on the aft regions of the superstructure on each deck. The classic looking explorer yacht can be adapted to ice-class as the designer intends to develop it further.
