  1. H2 Yacht Design and Laurent Giles collaborate on 110M Project “Atlas”

Two well-noted names in the business of superyacht design have come together to design an audacious project known at “Atlas”. The vessel is described as a 110-meter sail-assisted superyacht which uses the benefit of wind-driven power to help her through the water in conjunction with her engines.

Power is to be provided by diesel-electric means and running her on this alone is envisioned allow her an 18-knot top speed. Not only that but her tanks are large enough to run her for approximately 8,000-nautical miles without stopping. Of course if she is sail-assisted on that journey, the range would be inherently longer. Furthermore, the potential cost savings by using the sail-assisted concept can be as much as above 40-percent.

The massive 110-meter concept sprawls over five decks offering a myriad of opportunities for the owner or guests alike. The upper-most deck sets out relaxation space around the yacht’s central mast. Deck loungers and sun pads spread out from the mast likened to an unfolding flower. On a yacht this size there is space to fit in a few nice features. Down on the aft main deck, there is a large pool serviced by twin Jacuzzis. If that weren’t enough on-deck water for guests there are two more Jacuzzi-type pools on the end of the deck above.
  2. No one can complain they aren’t enough places to wet your feet onboard. The large main pool is flanked on both of its length sides by expanses of sun pads. Take a walk aft down the cascading stairs to Atlas’s impressive swim platform. Access to the ocean is easy from there, more space to fit those loungers and relax while the crew supply you with a cold beverage.

The Atlas concept is finished in a striking blue for the hull and pearly white for the superstructure- a very nice colour combination for sailing the deep blue. Even with so much sail area, the Atlas will heel at a comfortable angle making sailing as enjoyable as possible under average conditions. Atlas is a fine creation between Laurent Giles and H2 Yacht Design and gives the added incentive to anyone of having a large super yacht that has dual capability with the advantage of cost effectiveness.
