    Hi all

I have an old Bertram 38’ convertible. I am wanting to change the converter to a more modern one. The old converter is about 10 – 20 years old, it probably came with the boat. But now my only problem is I don’t know which is the best converter to use, I need a converter that is as small as possible light weight and is durable in extreme conditions, when I say extreme conditions I mean the unit should be water proof, must be able to take vibration. I was thinking of looking on the Bertram website to see what their new boats use but it doesn’t say, so my next question is does any body know what converters do they use on the new Bertram’s?

    Thanks all

The later model (2005) 39s came with a Sentry converter.

Sentry chargers have been around for a long time and, according to them...

Sentry FR chargers use dependable, proven ferro-resonant technology ensuring reliable, trouble free performance in a harsh environment. The ferro-resonant transformer and other internal components are readily available providing easy field repairs worldwide.

Sentry makes a good charger, I prefer the ProMariner Pronautic chargers. They are lightweight, durable, can charge any type of battery (AGM, GEL, Flooded) and are bulletproof. I have them installed on 3 different yachts.
