Yestruday I was in Viareggio (Italy) and suddenly found myself in front on the newly launched Benetti "Ambrosia III". Luckly I had my camera with me and thought I could share a few photos with you.. sorry about the color of the sky, but it's an earlier winter over here with rain and snow almost every day!
great photos Sneak onboard next time j/k The aft lines look very Benetti, but the bow and forward lines look like another builder. Almost like Floridian (ex-Aussie Rules)
Way to go MedRascal! Thanks for sharing. We've got a feature in the works for Ambrosia. Here's some launch pics... http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/benetti-yacht/3881-benetti-ambrosia-iii-launched.html Hope you don't mind... I cropped your pics to 640 to fit the format.
Natucci is the "hand" behind teh lines of many of today's larger Benettis delivered, such as the "Golden Bay" 50m series and many others (Reverie, Sai Ram, Midlandia, Altitude, Galaxy, Allegro, etc). Stefano Righini is responsabile for the 80ft "Legend", the 100ft "Tradition", the 115/120ft "Classic" and the 145ft "Vision" series.
Good info MedRascal. If anyone's interested, Benetti has released a book documenting the history of the company. Here's a press release... http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/news-products-and-launches/4032-history-benetti-book.html I recieved a copy of it. Interesting reading. Not too much on Ambrosia III, but it does have some short interviews with Stefano Righini and Stephano Natucci, detailing a little history of their design work with the yard.
