Looking for a truly qualified surveyor to survey a 38 Pursuit in Key Largo asap. Boat is with Marine Max, has 3126s with about 1300 hrs/tower. Opted to buy newer/smaller vs older early eighties Hat 55! Would like to hire the surveyor or ? to perform an initial boat inspection prior to my flying out from S. California

    Hi,

I sent you a PM with a couple of names and contact details.
  3. Although it is more expensive for you I suggest that you hire a seperate engine surveyor besides the hull surveyor. It is best to get a surveyor from Fort Lauderdale or Miami, I do not suggest a mechanic from the local CAT dealer. If I do have a mechanic on board rather than an engine surveyor, I tell then that a different shop will do repairs to prevent then from suggesting "a part needs work and I can do the work the next week."
    For CAts you might try:
    Gary Kepler 954-396-2134
Bruce Hicks 954-661-3208 (note his 3208 phone number)
    Joe Stafford 954-803-3252
    Tim Caruso 772-285-6770

    Hi,

GK was one of the names I gave him in a PM, the other was Patton Marine.

AFAIK Gary only does Surveys these days.

Thanks you guys for the referrals. I contacted GK for the Cats and plan on contacting Patton for the hull work.
