I tried the easy fix first, the push button on the dash but that wasn't the problem. I have to go to the engine room and push the T handle to shut it down the port side 12v183 MTU. I see there is a box on the side with wires going to it as well as a line to the HALON system. Question, what's inside of the cigarette pack sized box with the wires going into it? The problem has to be in there. The T handle manual shut off operates smoothly so it's not binding. It has to be electrical.
    As always, thanks guys!

Do you know what the control voltage is and can you test for that voltage on either side of the dash button/switch ?

I'm on the way to test it. I believe its 24v but it could possibly be 12.

I'm not a MTU guy. Been around other brands that have some kind of a "Black Box" near the engines.
Fusses and breakers are usually on this box.
Next your probably going to find a bad or loose connect hanging in the E R.
    Good luck.

Duh! Darwin reporting in.... Ive never had to touch a 24v fuse panel in the engine room but the thought crossed my mind last night. Sure enough, there were two fuses (one for each side) saying "ENG SHUT DOWN". Yup, a simple fuse was the problem.

Yep that was my next question. Sometimes a fuse will
Blow for no Reason but often it will keep blowing

    Blown or bad?
I have found a few bad fuses that were not blown from over current?

Well. I installed the correct fuse and all is well. I did learn that there is a slow blow "MDL" fuse made by Anchor fuse and many others which was original equipment. Apparently it won't blow during an initial load but will if it continues for more than a few seconds. If anyone has the issue of them going constantly, it is likely a standard 10A automotive fuse.
